About Us

Passport Food Group was founded in 1978 by Robert Yee, as Passport Asia Associates. Operating as Wing Hing Noodle Company, it started out literally as a "mom and pop" operation with one machine making authentic noodles for Chinese restaurants in Los Angeles.

Over the years, the company grew larger expanding its wide range of Asian noodle products and other specialty ingredients including rice and tofu products. Today the company supplies many large chain restaurants and food retailers across the country with fresh, authentic Asian ingredients.

In January 2010, Passport Asia Associates changed its name to Passport Food Group, Inc., to reflect the company's goal of expanding into international foods beyond the Asian category. In addition to the products we manufacture, Passport provides sourcing services to many of our customers to identify quality manufacturers around the globe who can support the unique flavors and textures that chefs demand and consumers crave.

In February 2010, Passport acquired Royal Angelus Macaroni Company. Now known as Royal Pasta, it is the second oldest dry pasta manufacturing company in the United States, and the oldest west of the Mississippi. Founded in 1887, Royal Pasta is produced in the Los Angeles area, from locally sourced grains grown and milled in California.

The Royal brand produces three distinct product lines: Artisan Traditions - old world style, bronze die artisan pasta; Organic Selections - 100% certified organic pasta; and Culinary Classics - popular pasta styles produced specifically for foodservice professionals.

Passport Food Group serves the needs of our food manufacturing and private label customers with specialty cuts (manicotti, single serving lasagna, jumbo shells), specialty flours (organic, whole grain, multi-grain) and smaller, custom runs specific to customer needs.

Future plans for Passport Food Group include expansion into other specialty international foods that offer unique products to our customers and satisfy our mission of "Bringing the world to your plate."™
